In this article, Jeff Jarvis makes some interesting suggestions about reinventing the news article. Actually, I don’t think reinventing is the right description. I would describe it as inventing an article navigation system. I think it’s possible to keep all of the elements of the inverted pyramid, and also create shortcuts or “paths” to get to those elements. I think this idea would be a benefit to many readers, it could also be a detriment for those who aren’t regular visitors. It opens up the door for more missed information for the casual reader. I think some casual readers who are in a hurry, wouldn’t bother clicking individual links or paths. But overall, I think this idea is worth exploring.
